Grants

The Moline Public Schools Foundation was established to improve and strengthen school programs offered by the Moline School District. The MPSF awards grants that contribute directly to education on annual basis that have averaged between $22,000 to $28,000 total. The MPSF focuses on providing teachers in the Moline School District with funding that will contribute directly to enhancing a student's skills in reading, math, sciences, social studies etc. in the classroom. Teachers at all Moline schools are encouraged to apply using the provided grant application that is made available each year in January. 

The timeline of the annual grant cycle is as follows:

  • Grant application is made available in January.
  • The application deadline requirement is set for early April of the same year.
  • The allocations committee is sent copies of each complete application received by the deadline.
  • The allocation committee meets in April to review the applications and recommend grants to the board for that year's available funds.
  • The Moline Public Schools Foundation board votes on the final grant approval at the regularly scheduled May board meeting.
  • Teachers are notified prior to the end of the school year.
  • Grants are announced at the State of the Schools event.  Recipients are required to attend.

The grant application will be available at www.molineschools.org, www.molinepsf.org and announced via our Facebook page atwww.facebook.com/mpsfoundation.

This year's target schools are:
Franklin, Hamilton, John Deere, and Wilson

At least 50% of available funds will be allocated to target schools,
which rotate each year in an effort to provide an equal opportunity
for funding. We encourage all educators to apply, as the Foundation often is able to fund or partially fund the majority of grants submitted.

Grant applications are due by 4:30pm on Friday, April 9, 2021 and must be submitted electronically to the MPSFoundation Allocations Committee at: mpsfgrants@gmail.com.

MPSF HavLife Summer/Spring Activity Grant

HAVlife™ seeks to allow all youth to experience life to the fullest - increasing exposure to positive community influences and enhancing the development of a positive and confident approach to citizenship. This grant will focus on helping students grade K-12 participate in extracurricular activities provided through the Moline-Coal Valley School District and non-school based extracurricular activities by granting funds to cover the cost of program enrollment or equipment based on expressed need. Approved extracurricular activities include music, arts, and athletics (i.e. swimming lessons, youth theater, football camp). Requests for additional extracurricular activities may be granted if a financial need is justified by the applicant. Apply now...
